Why Do We Still Recognize Holy Week?
Do you remember the day you heard the Good News for the first time? Many times, when we hear wonderful news, or tragic news, we remember the day and place—like it is etched in our minds never to be forgotten. Do you remember what it was like when you experienced the unmatched grace of God found in Christ Jesus?
I hope you do, and I hope you never forget it. News of this magnitude is life-changing—literally. It’s the news that redefines futures, can bring estranged families back together, and has the power to redeem all that seems broken in this world. It’s the best news ever! It’s the Good News that Jesus lived, died, and rose again to be both Savior and Lord to those who believe.
That last part is really important. Many historians believe in the credibility of the historical Jesus, but they don’t follow Him as Savior and Lord. Do you believe? I pray that you have heard the good news and believed it for yourself. I pray that it has remarkably changed your life for the better in the economy of God’s Kingdom!
Holy Week is a special week set aside for us to worship God and celebrate this Good News! I hope that you’re making plans to be part of the celebration with us at The Chapel—especially if you call The Chapel your church home. I know Easter is the start of Spring Break here in Glynn County. If you can, please prioritize being with us for Good Friday and Easter Sunday before you enjoy your family trips. Being together matters. And I hope you’ll use your voice to witness to this Good News by inviting others to join you as we gather to worship the crucified, risen Jesus this Holy Week!
It’s really something we strive to do every day in every way. I’m a big proponent of that. But I also think there are big moments on the calendar where we need to do all we can to be together as a faith family. Holy Week is one of those times. I hope you’ll join us this year as we remember hearing the Good News and seek to become more like Jesus for the sake of others!

“Let the little children come to me.”
Here at The Chapel, one of our values is Equipping Generations. We believe God has a very specific plan for the next generation, and we want to be a part of it. This Easter, we will be having Children’s Ministry during all three services. During the 9:00am and 10:30 services, we will have a LIVE BAND IN THE TREEHOUSE!
